Episode 4
A large number of “Volga Germans” settled in the area around Victoria, Kansas in the late 19th century after life become untenable in Russia. After they quickly outgrew their first three church buildings their Franciscan pastor decided to build a church they would not outgrow. That structure was completed in the early 1990s, and was given the name “Cathedral of the Plains” by a celebrated figure.
